Rise Up and Set Your Boundaries: It’s Time to Shine!

Hey, amazing people!
? Let’s talk about the reality of standing up for yourself, knowing your worth, and setting those boundaries! ?
We’ve all been there giving our all to people we care about, only to have our efforts overlooked and our hearts bruised. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but today, I’m sharing a story with you, not to dwell on the past, but to celebrate the strength and clarity a strong woman has gained.

The Reality Check

People you love and would do anything for can sometimes be the first to point out your failures. It’s a harsh reality, especially when you’ve stood by them through thick and thin, even when they put you through some REAL STUFF! Yet, every time their call comes in, you answer, ready to help in any way you can. But when things go wrong, they project their anger onto you, blaming you for their own issues. They never stop to look in the mirror and see how they’ve failed you, how they’ve never truly been there for you.

Standing Strong

But guess what? I’m not letting them drag me back into that negative headspace I fought so hard to escape. I remind myself daily that while I may not be a perfect mother, I am a damn good provider! People might try to hit below the belt, but I refuse to stoop to their level. I’ve grown beyond that. That’s my reality.

The Power of Truth

When people know your struggles, they sometimes use that knowledge to hurt you. No matter the real reason you leave a situation, they’ll concoct their own theories because the truth stings. I thought I had a friend after everything we’d been through, but today, I see things differently. I’ve learned my lesson.

Moving Forward

From this day forward, I’m done being the nice guy in situations that don’t deserve my kindness. My heart has always led me to be compassionate, but now, it’s time for a change. Everything from now on is STRAIGHT BUSINESS or NOTHING AT ALL. A person liking me doesn’t pay the bills around here! ✌?

Embracing the Future

This story has taught me the importance of self-respect and boundaries. It’s okay to prioritize yourself and your well-being. It’s okay to demand respect and to walk away from those who don’t value you. Let’s keep moving forward with strength, clarity, and a whole lot of self-love.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s continue to uplift each other and embrace the power of truth and resilience.
? Stay strong, stay true, and keep shining! ?

The Unique Experience: Breaking the Cycle

HOW THINGS USED TO BE

BREAK THE CYCLE: I’ve been labeled as the “Black Sheep” in my family for as far as I can remember. Not only did I hold that title, but so did my mother and father in their family. Living by that label for so long put me in a dark place in my life. Most of my dreams and goals were shattered when I opened my mouth to the wrong people.

These people were family and friends. They instantly planted their seeds of doubt, their insecurities, and fears within me. These were the circle of people I looked to and thought would be the perfect people to share with. I looked forward to them giving me sound advice. Of course, mission failed.

TIME TO BREAK THE CYCLE

So when strangers approached me who were genuine people, I didn’t have room to receive what they were giving. I was filled with doubt, fear and insecurities. Ones that were not my own, but took them as though they were.

While not receptive to anything the strangers had to say. I already had the mindset I wasn’t good enough to reach my full potential. I was being pulled down by people who were afraid to fail and didn’t mind being “Normal.”

When I allowed them to have that much power over me, I caused myself to unconsciously turn down and run away from so many life-changing opportunities. All because I shared my dreams them. Not only that, I shared MY OPPORTUNITIES with them.

IN CONCLUSION

My life lesson going forth now is this… Just because you are connected by blood and have history with people, it doesn’t mean those same people see your potential. They’re not rooting for you to make it. Everyone that’s your relative by blood isn’t considered your family.

Your enemies could very well be the friend’s you’ve shared your dreams with. It’s important to have a different circle of people who are on the same level you are striving to reach. You don’t have to stay where you are to make people you grew up with happy and comfortable to be around you. Gain new relationships and break the cycle! It’s never about what you are called but what you answer to!
