BUCCANEERS VS. EAGLES | NFC WILD CARD MONDAY

The Philadelphia Eagles would face off with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final game of Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. Philly (11-6) came into this game as the #5 seed and under heavy scrutiny after their miraculous start to the season. The Bucs (9-8) secured the #4 seed and the NFC South division title coming into tonight’s game.

Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield had a monster game as he threw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in the contest. Tampa Bay struck first in the first quarter. After scoring on a field goal, Mayfield would find David Moore on a 44 yard touchdown pass making the score 10-0.

The Buccaneers would score two six more points field goals from Chase McLaughlin before the Eagles would answer with one of their own. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts would score on a pass to TE Dallas Goedert late in the second quarter. After failing on a two-point conversion try, the score was 16-9 at halftime.

EAGLES FALL APART

The Eagles would give up a safety in the third quarter. With the score 18-9, the Buccaneers would find the end zone again on a pass from Mayfield to Trey Palmer for 56 yards. The fourth quarter would see Tampa Bay score another touchdown on a 23 yard pass to Chris Godwin.

Philly could not get anything to work offensively in the second half. Missing their top WR A.J. Brown did not help matters as the Eagles could not save their season with this loss.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

The Buccaneers will now move on to the NFC Divisional Round where they will face the Detroit Lions. The last time these two teams met was back in Week 6 where the Lions thumped the Bucs 20-6. For the Eagles their season comes to an end after making the Super Bowl last year and starting the season 10-1.

The Wild Card playoff round is now over. Who will win in the divisional rounds of the NFL playoffs? Let us know down in the comments below!

BROWNS vs. TEXANS | SUPER WILD CARD SATURDAY

The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans kicked off Wild Card Saturday of the NFL Playoffs this afternoon. The Browns (11-6) came into this game as the 5th seed, while the Texans (10-7) were the 4th seed. On paper it would be a formidable match between two hungry AFC teams.

It would begin as a close matchup. Cleveland would score in the first quarter off a Kareem Hunt touchdown. Houston would answer with C.J Stround finding Nico Collins for a score late in the quarter. The second quarter saw the Texans gather steam on offense. Stroud would throw for two more big touchdowns to make the score 24-14 at halftime.

HOUSTON DEFENSE TOO MUCH FOR BROWNS

In the third quarter, the Texans defense would also put points on the board. Browns QB Joe Flacco would throw not one, but two costly interceptions that were ran back for scores. The first came from Steve Nelson for 82 yards and the second pick was returned by Christian Harris for 36 yards.

With the score 38-14 going into the fourth quarter, any hope of a comeback in this game for Cleveland was all but lost.

The last score of this contest came from the Texans as RB Devin Singletary would score on a 19 yard run early in the 4th quarter. Even with the magic that Flacco and the Browns had going into the game, it wasn’t enough to slow the momentum of a Texans team that is riding an incredible wave with their rookie QB and rookie coach Demarco Ryan.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE TEXANS

Texans QB C.J. Stroud

With this win the Houston Texans will advance to the AFC Divisional Round. Because the NFL re-seeds in the playoffs, the Texans’ opponent will not be known until all Wild Card games are completed. With a victory, the Texans would travel to Baltimore, Buffalo, Kansas City, or host Miami.

Stroud would also become the youngest NFL QB in history to win a playoff game. Houston will hit the road and face the top-seeded Ravens in Baltimore IF the Chiefs AND Bills both win their home playoff games. The Texans will go to Buffalo next week if the Bills beat the Steelers, and the Dolphins beat the Chiefs. The Texans play at Kansas City if the Chiefs win and the Bills lose to Pittsburgh.
