#NewMusicMondays Feat. DJ Khaled

DJ Khaled

DJ KHALED has Hip-Hop buzzing once again after the release of his latest project God Did. Pitchfork reports that this follow up to last year’s Khaled Khaled features a stacked roster of guests, including Jay-Z and Lil Wayne (on the title track alongside Rick Ross, John Legend, and Fridayy), Drake (on opener “No Secret”), Future and SZA (on “Beautiful”), the late Juice WRLD (“Juice WRLD Did”), and more.

God Did marks the 13th studio project Khaled has released and like his previous LP’s has several guest appearances as well as Khaled’s signature catchphrases. One of the most talked about songs on the LP is “God Did” that features Ross, Wayne & Jay-Z. While both Ross and Weezy brought the attitude on the track, Hov spoke boss talk like he always does. He did so for nearly four minutes! His verse has already been deemed by some as the Hip-Hop verse of the year. Check out the lyric video down below and let us know what you think.

Please, Lord forgive me for what the stove did

Nobody touched the billi’ until Hov did

How many billionaires can come from Hov crib? Huh

I count three, me, Ye and Rih

Hip-Hop Icon Scarface Says Farewell

When Hip-Hop first began in the late 70’s the genre was labeled as a passing fad, but even with it’s initial spark, some had ruled it to quickly fizzle out like disco or jazz. Hip-Hop was especially designed to provide a voice to the voiceless. The birthplace and essence of Hip-Hop will be debated about for years to come.  One thing we do know to be a fact that it reached as far west as Los Angeles California and as far South as Houston Texas. The birth place of one the most prolific MC’s who has ever touched a mic Brad Jordan aka SCARFACE.

HIP HOP – DJ KHALED FT SCARFACE & NAS

(KISS THE RING)

“HIP HOP HEARTBREAKS, STRAIGHT LACED DEEP BASS 808’s, PLUS THE MIXTAPES”

 SCARFACE

Scarface had that voice and witty rhyme flow that could match perfectly with the best of them. In addition, his keen ear which allows him the ability to produce his own projects. Just take a listen to his latest and undeniably his best body of work DEEPLY ROOTED

Despite having eleven studio albums, 2 compilations and countless of features it’s safe to say that the body of work Brad Jordan has put together is incomparable to anything in Hip Hop has been able to listen to.
