WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS: HYDRATION Hey Hotties! With temperatures rising and summer right around the corner, there’s no better time to touch on the importance of staying hydrated.
Why Do I Need to Hydrate?
Hydration is essential for good health because our bodies are made up of almost 70% water. The water in our bodies maintain our metabolism along with a variety of other body functions.

Wellness Wednesdays: Hydration
When the bodies hydration needs aren’t met, there will be side effects. One of the major side effects is the brain stops sending thirst signals and starts sending hunger signals. Drinking inadequate amounts of water also compromises your gut health. If you are not making enough digestive juices your metabolism can slow down and can cause weight gain, and constipation.
Drinking the appropriate amounts of fluids ensures that you aren’t retaining any excess sodium (salt). This can be a significant contributor to weight gain and bloating. Being well hydrated will also reduce your chances of mistaking hunger for thirst, and eating when you aren’t really hungry.

Don’t Stay Thirsty Hotties!
Don’t let dehydration slow down your goals. Drinking plenty of water, coconut water, teas, and electrolyte beverages are a few ways to stay hydrated during the summer months to ensure a successful health and wellness journey.
