Straight Official Sit Downs: DJ Mannie Faces & DJ Willybangz

In the dynamic realm of Hip-Hop, few names resonate as profoundly as DJ Mannie Faces and DJ WillyBangz. As influential members of the Worldwide Fleet DJs—a coalition boasting over 700 members since its inception in 2001—these two artists have been instrumental in shaping the soundscape of independent Hip-Hop across the United States.

DJ Mannie Faces: The Cultural Conduit

Hailing from Indianapolis, DJ Mannie Faces is more than just a DJ; he’s a cultural ambassador. His work transcends music, delving into journalism, public speaking, and podcasting, all aimed at highlighting Hip-Hop’s potential to drive societal change.

Musically, Mannie Faces has curated projects that spotlight emerging talent. His “Crowd Control” mixtape series, with volumes released in 2021 and 2023, features collaborations with artists like A. Ali, NFL Simmane, and MoneyTrain . These compilations serve as platforms for underrepresented voices in the Hip-Hop community.

DJ WillyBangz: The Beat Architect

Based in New York City, DJ WillyBangz’s journey into music was influenced by his family’s musical roots. Since joining the Fleet DJs in 2021, he has been a driving force in the Northeast’s Hip-Hop scene.

WillyBangz’s discography is a testament to his versatility. His “Hip Hop Havoc” mixtape series, particularly Volume 3, features a blend of established and upcoming artists, reflecting the genre’s evolving landscape. In 2023, he released “Independent Artillery,” an album that underscores his commitment to promoting independent artists.

The Synergy of Collaboration

Mannie Faces teamed up with Willy to release “Nap York City.” This is an album that bridges the sounds of Indianapolis and New York City. The project showcases talents such as Illy Octane, Mojo, and Nike Bootz from the Midwest, alongside King Priimme, Budda Early, and Krazinice from the East Coast.

The partnership between DJ Mannie Faces and DJ WillyBangz epitomizes the power of collaboration in music. Their joint project not only merges the distinct sounds of their respective cities, but also serves as a blueprint for cross-regional musical fusion. By bringing together diverse talents, they’ve created a body of work that resonates with a broad audience. It exemplifies the unifying power of Hip-Hop.

Straight Official Sit Downs: Autumn Paige

Autumn Paige

AUTUMN PAIGE stopped by our HQ for this edition of Straight Official Sit Downs where we get to know emerging artists nationwide. @klassikceo got the opportunity to chop it up with the up and coming artist. Check out their one-on-one down below and click here for more Straight Official Sit Downs.

Q&A WITH AUTUMN PAIGE

What is your Name? Tell us where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?

My name is Autumn Paige, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and for as long as I can remember, music has been the rhythm of my life. I grew up completely enchanted by musicals. Grease, The Wiz, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie—those weren’t just shows to me. They became worlds I escaped into. Creating stories that stirred something deep in my soul. I would rewind scenes, memorize every line, every lyric—completely obsessed with the magic of it all.

That magic followed me everywhere. From singing in the church choir to performing with Heights Youth Theatre, I was always chasing that feeling—the rush, the emotion, the storytelling. But the real turning point? It came in the most unexpected place: my college dorm room.

So when was the moment in time for you? When you knew this was the path you wanted?

It was a chill night, just me and some friends messing around with karaoke. I grabbed the mic like I always did, not thinking much of it, and after I finished, one of them looked at me and said, “Autumn… you can actually sing.” In that moment, it hit me. This wasn’t just a hobby. This wasn’t just me being a fan of music.

All those late nights digging into new sounds, curating playlists like they were sacred texts—that was me trying to find my place in something I was born to do. Music isn’t just what I love. It’s what I’m meant to do in life.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Who and/or what inspires you to create?

Honestly… it’s my childhood. Growing up, I was always different. I never fit into the mold. I was the kid who dressed a little bolder, dreamed a little bigger, and saw the world through a lens most people couldn’t understand. It’s because of that I got picked on…a lot. Being constantly told I was “too much” or “not enough.”

But even in those moments of loneliness and doubt, I had one thing that never let me go: music. I found refuge in the artists who dared to be themselves. The ones who made me feel like I belonged, even when the world said I didn’t. They created worlds I could escape to, and deep down, I knew—I wanted to be that for someone else.

MUSIC WITH A PURPOSE

It’s for the little girl sitting in her room. Feeling like she’s too different to be accepted. But it’s deeper than just me. I’m the oldest of four, and I carry that with pride. I want my siblings, my cousins, my whole family to see me chase the wildest dreams and know they can too.

I want them to feel unlimited. To know that being different is powerful. That there’s nothing out of reach when you walk in your truth. That’s why I create—to heal the past, inspire the future, and remind every outsider that their uniqueness is their superpower.

Autumn Paige

Words honestly can’t express how grateful I am for each and every one of you. The fact that you take the time to listen, to feel what I’ve felt, and to truly connect with my music… It means everything.

AUTUMN PAIGE

How would you describe your sound?

If I had to describe my sound in one phrase, it would be Stadium R&B. It’s not your typical R&B—it’s bigger. More cinematic. It’s powerful. The kind of music that fills the air, rattles your chest, and makes you feel everything all at once.

Think raw emotion wrapped in bold, anthemic production. The kind of sound that could echo through an arena, but still speak directly to your heart. It’s soulful and vulnerable, but it doesn’t whisper—it roars. Like heartbreak on a grand scale. It’s love, loss, growth, and fire—amplified. This isn’t background music. This is center stage, lights-down, smoke-in-the-air, scream-the-lyrics type of music. R&B made to move mountains.

What is your creative process like?

My creative process is therapy. I sit down, lay all my trauma, experiences, and the things that are weighing on me—everything that’s been eating at me—right out on the floor. No filter, no holding back. I tap into the emotion of it all, and then I create from that space. Whatever I’m feeling, whatever I’m processing—it becomes the music. The sound, the lyrics, the energy—it all starts with the truth of how it makes me feel.

SHIFTING GEARS

What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

There are so many artists I’d love to collaborate with—Doechii, Doja Cat, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Kehlani… and honestly, the list could go on and on. Each of them brings something so unique to the table—whether it’s raw emotion, fearless creativity, or undeniable stage presence. I’m inspired by boundary-pushing artists. Ones who create worlds with music. It would be an honor to build something powerful alongside them.

What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?

A talent most people definitely don’t know I have? I can bend my thumb completely the other way. Yeah… it’s giving contortionist energy. I’m double-jointed. Which basically means I’ve got freaky little party tricks up my sleeve. It’s not exactly Grammy-worthy, but it is great for weirding people out at random moments—10/10 would recommend.

What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

If I weren’t doing music, I’d probably be a stylist or creative director. I’ve always had a deep love for clothes—putting them together, dressing others, and coming up with fresh ideas that make people feel their best. There’s something about turning fabric into self-expression that gets me every time.

Whether it’s curating looks or setting a visual mood, the world of fashion is just as inspiring to me as music. I’d be right there, behind the scenes, making people look and feel incredible.

WRAPPING IT UP

Who are some artists/people you admire and why?

One artist I really admire is Doechii. She’s so unapologetically herself, and I love how she says whatever on her mind without holding back. I find it amazing to see how far she’s come. Her journey proves that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s inspiring for artists like me, who have been grinding for years, to see her still going strong. It gives me hope that the hustle is worth it.

What is the best advice you’ve received?

The best advice I’ve been giving is it’s okay to say no !

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the industry, it would be streaming. The whole thing has messed up revenue for artists. Making it incredibly hard for them to actually make a living off their hard work. The system doesn’t truly value the time, effort, and creativity we pour into our music.

Autumn Paige

What’s next for you? Where would you like to see yourself next year? In the next year, I see myself on every stage possible, reaching new heights with every performance. And I know the Billboard Top 10 is my next stop. I’m ready for it, and I’m coming for it.

STAY CONNECTED WITH AUTUMN PAIGE

What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?

TheDRSAlien Delivers With His Latest Anticipated Single

Meet TheDRSAlien

Pennsylvania native and recording artist TheDRSAlien has embarked on a mission to produce artistic and creative music that resonates with his audience. His latest single, titled “Act Now,” marks a significant step in his rebranding journey. DJ Spins sat down with TheDRSAlien to gain insight into his creative process and explore the thoughts behind his artistry.

Q&A With TheDRSAlien

How did you come up with your stage name? Tell us where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?

How I got my stage name was just like everyone else, you know. I wanted something unique that’ll stand out. So just being the person that I am and always wanting and trying to be different than everyone else. I thought to myself, what has those similarities that makes everyone their own person.

So I came up with “Alien,” but then that was just too bland. So I added the initials of my slogan (DRS), which stands for “Dreams Require Sacrifice.” Putting the two together I came up with “TheDRSAlien” and that’s stuck with me for as long as I could remember now.  I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY, but moved around a lot when I was young. I currently live in Temple, Pennsylvania.

What got me interested in the music industry was watching Usher as a youngin & just loving everything he was doing. From singing to dancing to acting and performing. I knew that I wanted to live that type of life and have that lifestyle because it looks fun and entertaining. It also makes people happy at the same time. Seeing the creativity of it all just sparked a huge interest for me. No matter what I won’t give up. For as long as it takes to get me their and I’m loving the process of my journey.

The Creative Process

Who and/or what inspires you to create?

I think what inspires me to create is the love for creating itself. It’s kinda like meditation in a way for me. To zone in and really listen and focus on what the beat is saying. Then catchin’ that crazy flow which is then what gets me hype!

If you got a crazy flow it doesn’t matter what you really saying. It’s gonna sound crazy when you record it, but then you know when the words start spilling out and hearing what your mind can create is a deep and awesome feeling for me.

I’ve had times where I wanted to give up but couldn’t because it just kept calling me back is what keeps me inspired to keep going is that the fact that I can’t get away from it even if I wanted to because it’s my soul speaking through your speakers at that point and my music makes people feel good, happy and energized with fun energy.

How would you describe your sound?

I would describe my sound to be fun, diverse, energizing, soulful, artistic, and overall great vibes to be able to play it 20-50 years from now and still have the same vibes like if it dropped yesterday.

What is your creative process like?

My creative process starts off by first rolling me some of that good stuff then going through finding the beat, catching the flow and just practicing that flow a few times before I start my writing process but first I usually start with the bridge/hook/chorus then write the verses.

Sometimes I wait till 4am to wake up and write because my brain seems to lock in a lot better at that time for some reason. So whenever I write I try to do it in the am, but for a feature I sometimes don’t have that option. I’m also able to just tap in when I really need to but for my own I’ll take more time.

TheDRSAlien

What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with? I few artists I would like to collab with would be Usher, Chris Brown, Kid Ink, Lil Wayne, Ace Hood, Wiz Khalifa, Russ, Tory Lanez, Stella StandingBear, Future, Bow Wow, 50 Cent, Big Sean, & Drake and my reason is because I grew up listening so some of these artist and I also feel like we have a similar sound so to make a track together would be some crazy work.

If you could open a show for any artist who would it be? I would really love to open for Chris Brown but any of those artist I named I’ll go for as well.

TheDRSAlien

Shifting Gears

What is one message you would give to your supporters?

My message to my supporters would be to be patient, keep on believing even when things get hard, enjoy the journey, stay as focused as you possibly can, slow motion is better than no motion, stay true to who your are and always keep God first.

What is the most useless talent you have?

The most useless talent I have would be the fact I can flip my eyelids out and can touch my nose with my tongue lol.

What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

If I wasn’t doing music I would be a Barber/Entrepreneur.

Who are some artists you admire and why?  I admire artist who knew how to make it in the industry without a label and still seen major success. Being independent I know how hard it can be and the fact they made it happen is inspiring. Even those that did sign but were able to get out at the end and do their own thing. Take Russ & Tory Lanez for example, even Chris Brown did it and he was damn near blackballed but still selling out arenas till this day.

TheDRSAlien

I tell myself all the time to just take life slow and keep it all in God’s timing because only he knows what’s next for me. I can’t fight the process so enjoy the journey.

TheDRSAlien

New Music Incoming

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

To stop encouraging murder music and women degrading themselves to be the top sellers and bring back artists who really have art/talent.

You released new music this year! Tell us about the new project.

So my single “Act Now” was produced by Cor Mill (one of my favorite producers) and engineered by my bro (homie) Hector aka H and dropped it in 2024. This song is meant for you to pop out with that boss energy and show the world you the one and this is how you act, or even having fun with your friends at any event. A very high energizing record you can play at anytime anywhere.

What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?

What’s next for me is to continue to stay consistent with my catalog and start putting some shows together and hit the road.

Check out their one-on-one down below and click here to discover more emerging artists.

Q&A WITH TERISA GRIFFIN

What is your name? Tell us where you’re from and what interested you about the entertainment industry?

Terisa Griffin, From Monroe Louisiana but I’ve lived in Chicago for most of my professional career. I’ve always loved being creative so my thought is if this is truly what you love then it should be what takes care of you if you test it as a business.

Who and/or what inspires you to create?

Love inspires me to create music as well as my circumstances in life and love. My stage One Woman Shows are inspired by the the women in music that I hold in the highest esteem. Those women paved the way for me to do what I do.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound is a fusion of soul and a compliment of what happens in R&B with real Instruments. I call it Naked Soul.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

What is your creative process like?

I love writing my lyrics on the walls and in journals that I carry in my purse. I love to drive and sing into my phone whatever melody pops into my head.

The track should play as if it’s a story. When I’ve given the album enough stories the project is complete in conception. Now the true work begins, creating a fluid sound that I can perform in stage with confidence.

What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

My dream moment would be with Lenny Kravitz, DeAngelo, Bruno Mars, Her, & Pharrell.

Terisa Griffin

If you try you haven’t failed because nothing beats a failure but a try! The outcome does not define you. You define you in your actions and your ways.

What is one message you would give to your supporters?

Thank you so much for supporting me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of the music in your life. I don’t take your love, time or hard earned dollars for granted so I’ll always give you the best that I have!

LET’S SHIFT GEARS

What is an unknown talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?

I’m a good event planner and I love to decorate events!

What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

God has allowed me to do what has brought me true joy. I’ve used my talents and he has multiplied them so I’m not afraid to work. I’ve worked hard to have joy in my life so music is my life and I think it’s healthy to not what if but always know what IS!

Who are some artists/people you admire and why?

I admired my Queen Aretha Franklin because she wasn’t afraid to be who she was! Soulful and talented in so many genres. She was unapologetically Aretha!

I admired my Queen Tina Turner, because she rose above what others thought of her and knew who she was! She inspired me to throw age out the door and just be who you are. She worked hard and made CHAMPAGNE out of Lemons!

I admired my King Luther Vandross for his work ethic and his ability to stand on the stage and control us with his voice not a lot of dancers! His VOICE WAS PERFECT and it blinded us to the industry’s thought of what was perfect! He was perfection personified!

Just to name a few!

Terisa Griffin

IN CONCLUSION

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

My Father told me Terisa just do your best and don’t worry about failure. If you try you haven’t failed because nothing beats a failure but a try! The outcome does not define you. You define you in your actions and your ways. Eventually you will get the outcome you want!  Enjoy the ride and be the best version of you!

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

These are three things I’d pray to change:

I would change that technology has changed the ability for the Artist to make money. I believe technology has gotten ahead of this industry.

I’d place more value on content and ability when it comes to Artist and not just marketing because our children are sponges …but I’m old school.

I’d love for Artist to understand the power we have and the influence. Influence is a big responsibility we have whether we ask for it or not so we have to be careful. Just don’t fall for everything just to get paid! We need our money but also need integrity

What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?

I’d love to be on several successful tours with my fans having a career like the people I have open for and or admire…like Frankie Beverly, The OJAYS, Charlie Wilson, Anita Baker,  and so many more!

What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?
