Journalist Bae | State of the Election

As the United States gears up for the presidential election in 2024, the political landscape is charged with anticipation and speculation. The outcome of this election will not only determine the course of the nation for the next four years, but also carry significant implications for global politics and policies.

Candidates and Contenders

The field of candidates for the 2024 election is diverse and dynamic. It reflects the wide spectrum of ideologies and political strategies within the American political system. Among the notable contenders are:

Current President [Joe Biden]: Biden carries the advantage of incumbency, touting achievements and rallying support from their base.

Opposition Challenger [Donald Trump]: The unforgettable challenger, Trump has gained traction with promises of change and a fresh approach to national issues.

Third-Party and Independent Candidates: Historically, third-party candidates have played a crucial role in American elections. They present alternative platforms and perspectives that resonate with segments of the electorate disillusioned with the major parties. While not as known as Trump or Biden, these are the people who can make a difference. They’re the options if you don’t want to vote for either Trump or Biden.

Key Issues Shaping the Debate

Several critical issues dominate the electoral discourse. The issues are as follows:

Economic Policy: The post-pandemic economic recovery, inflation concerns, job creation, and income inequality are likely to be central themes.

Healthcare: Access to affordable healthcare, Medicare expansion, and responses to public health crises will be hotly debated topics.

Climate Change: With growing public awareness and scientific consensus, candidates’ stances on environmental policies, renewable energy, and global climate initiatives will be scrutinized.

Social Justice and Equity: Racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, immigration reform, and gender equality are pivotal issues influencing voter mobilization.

Foreign Policy: America’s role in global affairs, international trade relations, and strategies for maintaining national security will be key considerations.

Campaign Strategies and Digital Influence

Campaign strategies in 2024 will heavily leverage digital platforms and social media. This engages voters, disseminate messaging, and mobilize supporters. Data analytics, targeted advertising, and online fundraising will play crucial roles in shaping public opinion and voter turnout.

The Process

The electoral process in the United States includes primaries, caucuses, and the general election. Each state plays a pivotal role in selecting delegates and electoral college votes. Voter engagement initiatives will focus on voter registration drives, education on ballot measures, and efforts to combat voter suppression.

The Role of Media and Public Opinion

Media coverage will be instrumental in framing the election narrative, with debates, town halls, and interviews providing platforms for candidates to articulate their policies and engage directly with voters. Public opinion polling will track shifting voter sentiments and preferences as the campaign progresses.

Conclusion

The 2024 presidential election in the United States promises to be a landmark event. It will shape the nation’s trajectory on domestic and international fronts. With candidates vie for the highest office in the land, voters will face critical choices that will define the future of the country for years to come.

“Megan” is not just an album; it’s a statement—a manifesto of self-love, stamina, and unapologetic femininity. Dive deep into the tracks that make this album a must-listen for both die-hard fans and newcomers alike.

From the opening track, Megan sets the tone with “Boss Talk,” a bold proclamation of her status as a leader in the game. Her lyrics cut through with the precision of a seasoned veteran, showcasing her trademark flow and lyrical prowess. Collaborations with other artists only enhance the album’s dynamic range, then each track contributing to a cohesive narrative of triumph over adversity.

Journalist Bae Presents MODEL BAE @originalmsbae

Missouri Fleet Model Manager and our beloved covergirl, Kayla Bae aka Model Bae steps up to let us know a little something about her. For your information, she didn’t hold back. So, let’s get into who exactly this phenomenal woman turns out to be!

I’m genuine person with pure intentions… No scams. No Fraud. Just REAL & RAW!

@originalmsbae

MODEL (BAE) BEGINNINGS

Kayla joined the modeling scene in approximately 2020 being in modeling/acting school. Since then – it has been up, as they say. Back then it was one model division for every Fleet DJ state represented. While she didn’t take it seriously at first, there was a “divine intervention” that told her to just go for it! For a while, it seemed like the model coalition had ghosted her and she had no place to turn. However, shoutout to Jo Marie for the “motivation to just start recruiting”. This is a prime example of “you can’t beat them, join ’em”. She ran the idea by MO Fleet leaders & they were fully on board! They had her back through it all from the flyers to the recruitment process being so supportive & helpful! Ms. Bae expresses her gratitude to the team and ultimately to herself for not giving up on that journey.

THE RE-GLOW UP

Since joining the Fleet team Model Bae has gained much more exposure and well-deserved confidence learning how to do interviews and also conduct them. She even had her own radio show for a while, that was a major opportunity for Model Bae. It allowed astronomical growth, not just as a model but also as a woman. According to her, Fleet not only changed her career but it changed her entire life. They allegedly believed in her when she didn’t/couldn’t believe in herself. The family aspect is the most important thing to Kayla. So it’s a blessing to be able to literally call one of the fleet brothers for anything fleet (or not) and they will be there.

I always say I’m taking Fleet with me wherever I go, this was my foundation and the start of everything for me! They literally have always treated me like a superstar. The love is so real.

@originalmsbae

MODEL MISSION

Model Bae’s mission is to continue to build up her modeling team and do as much as she possibly can within fleet. Though pausing on recruiting for now to fully focus on the two models she has, she strives to get more exposure, start doing events, raffles, photoshoots etc. for her team. Kayla makes it clear that she strives to be the best at everything she does & puts all into everything her name is on or behind. She states she would like to work with some celebrity photographers such as Blake Martin whom she met at a model conference in 2023. The model also want to work with big artists one day writing music for them. Writing is also a passion of hers outside of modeling. With that being said check out her debut single as a songwriter called 24 hours by Airrisa Reneè produced by MO fleet producer Eugene aka EMP records. The song is now out on multiple platforms!

GAME OVER?

So is this the end of the Model Bae era? She says it took a while to realize what modeling was for her but once she did -nothing or nobody could tell her otherwise. So, the answer is NO! NEVER! Before she started she didn’t know what to do with life. Feeling as if she wasn’t good at anything and didn’t have a purpose. Every one wanted to push sports on our good sis because of her height (i.e. Angel Reese), but knew that she hated playing sports so it made her feel bad for a while. Overall, she knew the love of being photographed & so many people would constantly say, “you should be a model.” When her bestie decided to do photography & did one shoot with Kayla & it ignited a fire in our star player! She’s been going ever since. “4 years later I’m more confident then I ever been in my whole life. Modeling gave me a family that I feel I belong to. It’s a place for me there & I love it,” Model Bae says.

Journalist Bae | BLACK MUSIC MONTH

It’s June! It may feel like one year you woke up and somebody on black twitter said “We’re going to make Black History Month last as many months as possible, SURPRISE – it’s Black Music Month!” The joke would be on you because that is not at all what happened. While the national celebration of Black History began in 1926, we didn’t bring the music celebration on the scene until 1979. Let’s examine how the acknowledgment has evolved and take a look at some of the artists at the forefront of this year’s observation.

Late to the Party

We can thank former President Jimmy Carter for the initial national announcement of the celebration. However, the appreciation month did not become official until a bill was passed in congress only 24 years ago in 2000 (etc.org, 2024). For that, we can give a round of applause for activist Dyana Williams.

Her platform set forth the ideology that music has been a tool of black history preservation since before any official recording. Many share the same sentiment that the colonizations of African [Americans] has watered down the culture. Black Music Month is meant to praise the evolution of black music and its contribution to various genres.

Pioneers

The first ever celebration was held on the White House Lawn and included the likes of Chuck Berry and Billy Eckstine (UCCS). Now let’s take a look at some of at some artists who are literally ones FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS!

  • KING OF RAGTIME: Scott Joplin
  • FATHER OF GOSPEL: Thomas A Dorsey
  • FATHER OF FUNK: James Brown
  • MUSICAL THEATRE FOREFATHERS: Eubie Blake & Noble Sissle (Shuffle Along)
  • MOTHER ROCK ‘N’ ROLL: Sis. Rosetta Thorpe
  • FATHER OF JAZZ: Duke Ellington
  • MOTHER OF BLUES: Gertrude “Ma” Rainey
  • MOTHER OPERA: Marion Anderson

Join the Action

This year, you can join the party in multiple ways. If you’re in Tennessee, you can join on the “Blackest Broadway” on June 16th. NYC can join at the Music & Power Awards on June 12th. In Georgia, you can attend the South GA Gospel Music Fest on June 8th. In Kentucky, there’s a Black Music Month Celebration at the Palm Room in Louisville that takes place on June 14th. And last but not least, if you’re here in the great state of Florida, join us June 9th in Miami Gardens at the Black Music Month Celebration! Search up your city and state to see any and all events going on for the next 21 days.

Journalist Bae | Lil Nas X Shades Beyonce

“I’m gonna take my horse to the old town road. I’m gonna riiiide ’til I can’t no more!” These are words we could not get out of our heads in 2019. Fast forward 5 years and enters Beyonce on the country music scene. Reportedly, Lil Nas X is “happy” for her success. However, he wishes he could’ve been a part of it. Sounds like a hater to me, on the low. He said this publicly so it’s not really that low anymore.

I love playing Devil’s advocate (no pun intended), but this time – I can’t go for that. What’s interesting about this story is that the boy has not made another country song since “Old Town Road”. Which, might I add, was removed from the Country charts for not being “country enough”. That may be a sentiment Beyonce can relate to given the backlash from the CMA amongst others. The difference is, she still stood 10 toes down for her art.

Standing On Business

Let me make it make sense. Though this is the first country album that Bey has released, this is not her first time being associated with the genre. During the ‘Lemonade’ era, she did perform her song “Daddy Lessons” with the Dixie Chicks and it wasn’t necessarily well received by the country community. They frivolously accused her of appropriating their culture. She let it rest with Renaissance. Then comes Cowboy Carter where the Texan doubles down on her country attempt. I guess you can say she’s 20 toes down at this point.

Lil Nas X Started Country Music For Black People

Lil Nas X had ONE single that was country-like, but transitions to collaborating with Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, and Megan Thee Stallion for his first studio album. I don’t know but the lineup isn’t screaming country music. As far as I’m concerned, “Old Town Road” was a one-off. At this time, when we mention his name, do you really think about his music or do his internet antics come to mind?

This makes me think of when JT scolded Suki. “You go viral for shock value content, but it’s never shocking or of any value.” That’s really what it’s giving, chile. It will be interesting to see if Lil Nas makes a return to the country scene. Baes, what are your thoughts? Is he reaching or does he deserve a little credit for “opening the doors” of hip-hip/R&B/Country fusion?

Journalist Bae | New Music Friday

Hey Baes! Monday is my favorite day of the week, but Friday follows right behind! Obviously, because TGIF, but also because we get a ton of new music weekly. Here are new songs and/or albums released the week of May 24th, 2024.

#1 Coi Leray x Lemon Cars

The young star releases a 6 track EP in the wee hours of May 24th. This project features Mike WILL Made-It and Skilla Baby. Personally, not my vibe but the 5th track stands out for me. Let me know your favorite!

#2 Shenseea x Never Gets Late Here

Jamaican star, Shenseea releases a 14 track album featuring Wizkid, Anitta, Coi Leray, etc. According to her in an interview with Apple Music, this album is giving timeless music. “Die For You” seems to be a crowd favorite, but I’m a little partial to “Work Me Out”. Just in time for Summer!

#3 Sexyy Red x In Sexxy We Trust

Controversial rapper, Sexyy Red has released a 14 track mixtape with features from the likes of Drake (U My Everything) and Lil Baby (Lick Me). The project is only about 30 minutes long which may be a blessing (or a curse) for some. The internet is already going crazy over the Drake feature. As for my personal recommendation, most of them were skips for me, but if I had to choose one – it would “Outside”.

#4 Payroll Giovanni x Have Money Have Heart

Another EP from the Detroit rapper. Detroit music has a certain sound and Gio nailed it. This project is only 6 tracks long, but if you’re a part of the hustle hard, grind time culture this will be perfect for you. In my opinion, vibes only get better with each track ending with crowd favorite “Cashout”. I’m not sure who produced this body of work but go ahead and give the man his flowers because the production is what makes it what it is for me.

#5 Please Don’t Cry x Rapsody

This album was released last week, but it’s soooo good I feel as if it is worth mentioning. It’s real rap, real vibes, from a real female rapper. Everybody from Lil’ Wayne to Erykah Badu to Alex Isley and more appear on this project. I won’t even be bias to any particular track. All I will say, LISTEN TO THE WHOLE THING! It’s 22 tracks, but all 65 minutes of it are worth it!

What did I miss? Let’s talk about it! I can’t wait for next week!

Journalist Bae | JT Is Not The One

With the resurgence of diss tracks in 2024, the women are not excluding themselves. We’ve seen some drama pop off between JT, her former bandmate Yung Miami, and the ratchet woman’s favorite ratchet woman, Sukihana. First of all, I want to say I told you all last fall that the City Girl Era was coming to an end. Y’all didn’t believe me, maybe next time you’ll listen. Any who, JT, the self-proclaimed “City Cinderella”, has been doing her big one with these singles “Sideways”, “OKAY”, and “No Bars”. She became a cultural phenomenon practically independently and overnight. I mean how many individuals have you seen say or post “*muah* no bars”? That’s JT!

City Girls Go Head to Head

So boom, the girl is just as, if not more, successful than when she was a part of a group. For some reason, Yung Miami has been expressing that she basically feels as if JT’s been shady her whole career. We get to see them go back and forth for a while on twitter until the women agree it’s best settled off the internet, especially since they had spoken on the phone amidst the animosity and the energy was not same as it was “for the fans”. Now, I’m not one to choose between sides when I personally know ZERO parties involved. However, my girl JaTavia ate this up.

I have no doubt that Caresha is going through a rocky period, but what I experienced myself is that people will tell you to have empathy before you speak while not maintaining the same standard. We might not be going through the same thing but talk to me nice or I will come to you crazy. That’s not playing victim. That’s an equal energy exchange as far as I’m concerned. But I digress…

Is It Clout Chasing?

It’s either me or Cardi B, because she chipped her tooth too…”

@sukihanagoat

Moving on to the feud with Coochie Girl, Sukihana. She alleges that JT is dissing her in her song “OKAY”. According to Suki, the fans were tagging her and Cardi under one of JT’s posts where she mentions a woman chipping her tooth while eating crab legs. I guess JT took too long to respond and clear things up because Suki hits back with diss track “COCAINE”. JT says, there would be no reason to get in the booth and even think about her. I don’t know but Jatavia been eating the girls up lowkey.

Who’s side are you on?

Journalist Bae | Cam’Ron on Diddy

For the longest, we’ve all been discussing “The Diddy Allegations”. My question is, what would you say if you had to appear on national television for commentary? One person that can answer that question is rapper, Cam’Ron, of the Diplomats (no political affiliation, which makes this all the more ironic).

Diddy has been in the news so much from being raided to alleged sex trafficking. The thing that we’re no longer alleging is that Mr. Man did indeed, put his hands (and feet) on longtime girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Since the video evidence has surfaced, Diddy has issued an apology. Remember that this comes several months after discrediting women making allegations against him.

Earlier this week, Cam’Ron took to CNN for an interview. He apparently did not know that Diddy would be the topic of conversation, being that he’s not associated with him at this time. Cam made is clear on his podcast “It Is What It Is”, that even if the call from CNN was genuine – they should’ve checked his track record which news outlets. See what he says right here:

Some are saying this behavior is very immature and uncalled for, while others are saying it’s just “the New York” in him. Nonetheless, the anchor actually handled this as she should, in my opinion. I’m no one to judge, but baes, what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments or head over to instagram and follow us @straightofficialmagazine for more updates.

Journalist Bae | “Baddies” Is Taking Over

Baes, it’s been a while since we’ve had a talk, and today we’re discussing “Baddies” of the notorious, Zeus Network. Which, if you don’t know, is a spin-off of Bad Girls Club created by Natalie Nunn.

I’ve Been Seeing Baddies Everywhere

The network offers a plethora of reality-based shows, as well as some scripted ones. However, the best of them all is “Baddies”. Don’t ask me how I know, just take my word for it. If you are tuned in, then you saw Natalie be crowned as ‘Queen of Zeus’ over Joseline Hernandez on Nick Cannon‘s ‘Bad vs Wild’ (whatever that means). What you also may have been seeing is a series of “Baddies” or “Dollhouses” popping up in your city. I’ve moved, TWICE, since the beginning of the original series and believe me, it’s an epidemic.

Where Are We Now?

We are now on season 5 of Baddies, officially titled ‘Baddies: Caribbean’. After touring through the south, the east, and the west coast, the group “explores” Barbados, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic. The cast includes some special appearances from The Clermont Twins, Shenseea, and Aubrey O’Day amongst others. Perhaps this is part of the reason there is such a massive number of viewers with over 1 million subscribers.

What Exactly Is This About?

Regarding the plot, well, your guess is as good as mine. From what I’ve gathered, Natalie is a public figure who tours hosting events and that’s how she makes her bag on the show. Emphasis on *on the show* we won’t get into that. Any who, on these tours she basically acts as a Hugh Hefner having the girls perform for the crowds or simply look pretty while taking up space (you’re not required to be a musician or really have any talent for that matter) and promoting her brand. What’s most explosive about this series is how unhinged it is. I assume people like it because “anything goes”. Everybody wants to be a baddie. Although there is no clear definition of what that is, one thing is for sure – You better know how to dress. Even more – you better know how to fight.

You’re always quick to do “Baddie, baddie shot o’clock when one of us is upset.”

@pvd.biggie (Baddies West/East/Caribbean)

A Review

Nobody asked me, but the issue with this is that 13 year olds are in conversation with 33 year olds about how the whole thing goes down. It’s not like the network requires some special access to view these shows (just like VH1 didn’t) and the conversations on social media are certainly almost as entertaining as the show itself. Unfortunately for the general public, we often become removed from reality while aspiring to be a “reality” star. But even Jelaminah (BGC, Baddies South/Caribbean) makes it clear that she may have beef on camera, but as soon as the cameras aren’t rolling, she’s no longer in “TV Land”.

No matter your stance on the show or the network, one thing is for sure – ZEUS KNOWS HOW TO GET MONEY! Check out their latest announcement of a podcast featuring Tia Kemp (Rick Ross’s baby mother), Karlissa Saffold (Blueface’s mother), and Tokyo Toni (Angela White’s mother). Will you be tuned in?
