The Watchlist: Conversation With A Vision | Lul Jaida

Lul Jaida

Welcome to The Watchlist: Conversation With a Vision where Straight Official’s own DJ Gea chops it up with a purpose. Lul Jaida is a trendsetting artist who is providing music and entertainment at a high level.

Q&A WITH LUL JAIDA

DJ GEA: Let our readers know where you from & how did the city you lived in motivate and push you?

Lul Jaida: I’m from the south suburbs of Chicago.  I also, lived in Chicago for a couple years as well. Where I come from, it’s like I get the best of both worlds, living in the city showed me a different type of survival to make me grind harder from what I was normally used to growing up in the burbs.

How did you get started in music? What was it about music that caught your attention?

I always had a thing for music growing up, I used to write songs when I was in middle school, but I started making music after I figured out I had the talent and a lot ppl supported/ believed in me. So I just kept going & I was dedicated to getting better at it.

Where did the name come from?

My name is already Jaida, I just added the “Lul” on it. I used the Lul instead of Lil because a lot of ppl already had lil in front of there name. Even with my name being Lul Jaida but it’s still Big Jaida not the Little one!

Lul Jaida

How long have you been doing music? What has been your biggest accomplishment so far?

I’ve been doing music consistently for 2 years but I started making music & dropping in 2020. My biggest accomplishment so far is getting my music spent regularly on WGCI & 92.3. Also, having over 120k+ streams on one of my latest single “Back Seat” audio, as well as other records I have out. However the “BACK SEAT” Music Video coming sooner than they think!

SHIFTING GEARS

What do you bring to the game that no other artist is bringing now?

I’m in my own lane, I’m not following behind the next person. My work ethic, I’m one of the hardest working female artist buzzing out of our market. My voice/sound is different. I’m one of the only unsigned INDEPENDENT artists from Chicago with a whole team.. 2 managers, my own DJ, and dancers. & I’m moving around state to state with no deal! Basically building my own machine in the game.

In 2025 how do you plan to set the tone?

I plan to keep dropping fire music with visuals & keep giving my fans the best shows wherever I perform. I’m going to continue moving around til everybody across the world know my name & who I am.

What are some things you aspire to do with your music?

I aspire to be able to make ppl dance (not twerk) actually dance with choreography, to motivate & inspire others, to get happy when you hear my music and have ppl to be able to relate to things we both may have went through in our past.

Lul Jaida

LUL JAIDA STAY LIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LETS TALK MUSIC

Describe your style of music?

I have multiple styles of music but I would say my style of music is like lit, baddie, bossy, fun, confident, getting money, freaky type of music.. but also dance and pop records too, etc.

What’s your process for writing a song?

I like to listen to a beat, then form the beat as I write my lyrics. Then go to the Stu for 6-12 hour sessions and knock out my songs.

Have you had any live shows and if so tell me about your favorite performance?

I’ve had so many live performances, I just did 14 stages at SXSW. But my most favorite performance would probably be when I performed at WIU. It was so lit, so much love shown. I’d definitely go back and perform again!

Lul Jaida

What single are you pushing and how did it come about? How long did it take you to write it? Who is the producer? Is there a visual for the song?

I’m pushing my 2 singles “Backseat” & “on dummy”. “Back Seat” is produced by international Ukraine producers @djeverb & @rocco_dj. I went based off the title and the beat which made the song easy to write, and I described my experience/ relatable things. It only took me a hour to write. The visual is already shot and will be coming soon!

“On Dummy” is produced by @rjaeonnatrack. Once I heard the beat, it made me feel like I was on dummy lol. The beat so hard, and it go crazyyy. I wanted to talk my stuff on it. The visual is out now featuring A.R. the mermaid out of Memphis. It took me like 20-30 minutes to write this verse and hook.

IN CLOSING

Besides music, are there any other ventures you are currently sewing your seeds in?

Yes, right now I’m getting ready to launch my merchandise line! & I want to start my own makeup/cosmetics line, as well as other business later down the line!

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 to 5 years?

I see myself performing on bigger stages like rolling loud/big jam/summer smash & performing in different countries! Being nationally known! Working with bigger artists, having everybody in Lul Jaida merch. Stepping into different lanes and genres of music.

Let the people know how to get in contact with you.

G. Battles: The Blak Hart of the West

G. Battles

There’s a storm brewing in the desert, and his name is G. Battles.

Born in San Diego. Raised in Oakland. Seasoned in Las Vegas. G. Battles is more than a rapper—he’s a walking narrative of the West Coast’s past, present, and future. With each bar, he bleeds experience. With every beat, he channels the hyphy movement, the grit of the Bay, and the relentless drive of Vegas hustle.

The Blak Hart Mentality

G. Battles doesn’t just rap—he lives the stories he tells. His brand Blak Hart isn’t just a name; it’s a code, a survival mentality born from adversity. “Blak Hart is about strength through struggle,” he says. “It’s a reflection of my journey and the community that raised me.”

G. Battles

And that journey is heavy. His music carries weight, laced with the hard truths of growing up in Oakland, moving through the Vegas grind, and emerging with a sound rooted in authenticity. His tracks have found a home on Bay Area staples like 106.1 KMEL and Vegas’ KCEP 88.1, while major networks like Showtime have tapped into his storytelling for series like Shameless, The Good Fight, and Pitch.

GAME Recognizes Game

With his latest project GAME, produced by E Trizzle Beats, G. Battles returns to the essence of his artistry. “This album is about bringing the slap back to rap,” he says. “It’s pure West Coast energy—with that Bay Area DNA.”

The project is hard-hitting, heavy on the bass, and soaked in hyphy influence. It’s a ride through the streets that made him, and the game that shaped him.

G. Battles

The Road Is Never Smooth

True to form, Battles recently lived through another tale straight out of a movie. “I was driving from Vegas to the Bay to take my son to see my moms,” he recounts. “Stopped for gas in the middle of the desert. A cowboy’s trailer pops my tire. Dude offers to help—but before we could handle it, this loose cannon pulls up and starts wildin’.”

Cowboy, also known as Big Thunder (the OG to Nipsey Hussle, aka Little Thundercat), had ongoing issues with Luce Cannon — something Battles was unaware of. Battles found himself caught in the middle of their drama after Cowboy flattened his tire. A fight broke out between Cowboy and Luce Cannon, and the moment quickly went viral on social media. However, Battles’ virtue stood out: despite the chaos, he kept the situation from escalating further, prioritizing the safety of his child who was present.

The moment almost turned violent. But with his son watching, Battles did what many can’t—he deescalated. “I wasn’t about to let my son see that. That’s not what we’re on. We’re moving different now.”

A Resume Built in Bars

G. Battles’ resume includes collaborations with Rick Ross, Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Twista, Spice 1, and BG Knocc Out. He’s toured with Rappin’ 4-Tay, and stayed connected to the culture that raised him while pushing the boundaries of what West Coast rap can sound like in 2025.

His sound is cinematic, but his story is real. It’s raw, it’s rugged, and it’s rising.

G. Battles

This is West Coast to the fullest. But it’s my story too. Blak Hart. Bay blood. Vegas hustle. Let’s get it

Cashtank Reclaims the Mic in “Back in Motion”

rapper cashtank

When Cashtank said he was “Back In Motion,” it wasn’t just a title—it was a mindset. After a brief pause, he’s reminding everyone why his name never left the conversation. This is a personal victory lap, and every track on the EP sounds like it.

The break wasn’t about falling off—it was about leveling up. Cashtank spent time sharpening his pen, mastering his delivery, and plotting his next chapter. The result? A project that sounds hungry, seasoned, and focused.

He’s been rapping since 17 and always stayed under pressure—spotlights, expectations, and competition. But instead of cracking, Cashtank adapted. His earlier EP “Different Breed” set the tone, and now “Back In Motion” takes that energy and amplifies it. The beats are tighter. The lyrics go deeper. And the overall sound is more refined, without losing that raw edge.

Beyond the music, Cashtank’s story is inspiring. He’s a true example of what it looks like to keep grinding, even when the spotlight dims. He’s traveled, performed, dropped visuals, and never once lost his identity. He’s not trying to be anybody else. He’s just pushing his own wave forward.

I sat back & watched yall give credit to 🥷’s who ain’t put in no work …. LETS TAKE IT BACK OVER ……. ✅

There’s a quote from Cashtank that sums it all up: “Once you quit, you get nothing out of it.” And he’s lived that truth. He kept going, even when it got quiet. Now, he’s back—and louder than ever.

“Back In Motion” is more than a comeback—it’s a new chapter. A sharper pen. A clearer vision. And a louder voice. Cashtank’s here to remind the world what real hustle sounds like.

The Rise of Pookie F’n Rude: The General of the New West

Pookie F’n Rude

Before the stage lights, the viral moments, and the co-signs from West Coast legends, there was a young force from Long Beach named Pookie F’n Rude — a cultural architect with a vision, long before he ever touched a mic.

Pookie got his start where many stories begin — in the streets. Not as a rapper, but as a promoter and event architect, curating moments that moved crowds and shaped the underground scene. He had a natural instinct for energy, culture, and timing. With a sharp eye for what’s next and an unshakable authenticity, he helped break artists and ignite momentum throughout Southern California’s rawest corners.

Serving His Purpose

But Pookie was never meant to stay behind the scenes.

When he stepped into the spotlight, he didn’t just perform — he commanded. With a voice that cuts through noise and lyrics that reflect a lived reality, Pookie F’n Rude emerged as a powerful voice for the streets and a movement leader in his own right.

Pookie F’n Rude

His most recent project, Rebirth of the West, produced by heavyweight L-Finguz, is more than an album — it’s a statement. Gritty, unapologetic, and grounded in purpose, it brings the signature California sound into a new era. The album serves as a cultural checkpoint, reminding the world that the West never left — it just needed a new general.

That message hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Gaining Recognition

Pookie’s grind, voice, and vision have earned him respect from some of hip-hop’s most iconic names: E-40, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Ice Cube, and Suga Free. These legends recognize what Pookie represents — the next chapter of West Coast greatness, built on a foundation of respect for the past and hunger for evolution.

But his story doesn’t stop in the studio.

Pookie F’n Rude

More Than Just Music

In 2024, Pookie took his message beyond the music, launching a self-driven motorcycle and social club tour that touched communities up and down the coast. This wasn’t just about music — it was about connection. He showed up in neighborhoods, parking lots, and clubs, delivering realness and building relationships, not just fans. His merch line — bold, limited, and deeply rooted in the culture — quickly became collector’s gold.

Now, Pookie is expanding his reach once again. With a growing passion for acting and producing, he’s developing skit content and stepping further into the entertainment world with the same energy that built his name in music. Whether it’s behind a camera, on a set, or in front of a live audience, Pookie F’n Rude shows up with authenticity — every time.

Straight Official Sit Downs: Autumn Paige

Autumn Paige

AUTUMN PAIGE stopped by our HQ for this edition of Straight Official Sit Downs where we get to know emerging artists nationwide. @klassikceo got the opportunity to chop it up with the up and coming artist. Check out their one-on-one down below and click here for more Straight Official Sit Downs.

Q&A WITH AUTUMN PAIGE

What is your Name? Tell us where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?

My name is Autumn Paige, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and for as long as I can remember, music has been the rhythm of my life. I grew up completely enchanted by musicals. Grease, The Wiz, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie—those weren’t just shows to me. They became worlds I escaped into. Creating stories that stirred something deep in my soul. I would rewind scenes, memorize every line, every lyric—completely obsessed with the magic of it all.

That magic followed me everywhere. From singing in the church choir to performing with Heights Youth Theatre, I was always chasing that feeling—the rush, the emotion, the storytelling. But the real turning point? It came in the most unexpected place: my college dorm room.

So when was the moment in time for you? When you knew this was the path you wanted?

It was a chill night, just me and some friends messing around with karaoke. I grabbed the mic like I always did, not thinking much of it, and after I finished, one of them looked at me and said, “Autumn… you can actually sing.” In that moment, it hit me. This wasn’t just a hobby. This wasn’t just me being a fan of music.

All those late nights digging into new sounds, curating playlists like they were sacred texts—that was me trying to find my place in something I was born to do. Music isn’t just what I love. It’s what I’m meant to do in life.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Who and/or what inspires you to create?

Honestly… it’s my childhood. Growing up, I was always different. I never fit into the mold. I was the kid who dressed a little bolder, dreamed a little bigger, and saw the world through a lens most people couldn’t understand. It’s because of that I got picked on…a lot. Being constantly told I was “too much” or “not enough.”

But even in those moments of loneliness and doubt, I had one thing that never let me go: music. I found refuge in the artists who dared to be themselves. The ones who made me feel like I belonged, even when the world said I didn’t. They created worlds I could escape to, and deep down, I knew—I wanted to be that for someone else.

MUSIC WITH A PURPOSE

It’s for the little girl sitting in her room. Feeling like she’s too different to be accepted. But it’s deeper than just me. I’m the oldest of four, and I carry that with pride. I want my siblings, my cousins, my whole family to see me chase the wildest dreams and know they can too.

I want them to feel unlimited. To know that being different is powerful. That there’s nothing out of reach when you walk in your truth. That’s why I create—to heal the past, inspire the future, and remind every outsider that their uniqueness is their superpower.

Autumn Paige

Words honestly can’t express how grateful I am for each and every one of you. The fact that you take the time to listen, to feel what I’ve felt, and to truly connect with my music… It means everything.

AUTUMN PAIGE

How would you describe your sound?

If I had to describe my sound in one phrase, it would be Stadium R&B. It’s not your typical R&B—it’s bigger. More cinematic. It’s powerful. The kind of music that fills the air, rattles your chest, and makes you feel everything all at once.

Think raw emotion wrapped in bold, anthemic production. The kind of sound that could echo through an arena, but still speak directly to your heart. It’s soulful and vulnerable, but it doesn’t whisper—it roars. Like heartbreak on a grand scale. It’s love, loss, growth, and fire—amplified. This isn’t background music. This is center stage, lights-down, smoke-in-the-air, scream-the-lyrics type of music. R&B made to move mountains.

What is your creative process like?

My creative process is therapy. I sit down, lay all my trauma, experiences, and the things that are weighing on me—everything that’s been eating at me—right out on the floor. No filter, no holding back. I tap into the emotion of it all, and then I create from that space. Whatever I’m feeling, whatever I’m processing—it becomes the music. The sound, the lyrics, the energy—it all starts with the truth of how it makes me feel.

SHIFTING GEARS

What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

There are so many artists I’d love to collaborate with—Doechii, Doja Cat, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Kehlani… and honestly, the list could go on and on. Each of them brings something so unique to the table—whether it’s raw emotion, fearless creativity, or undeniable stage presence. I’m inspired by boundary-pushing artists. Ones who create worlds with music. It would be an honor to build something powerful alongside them.

What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?

A talent most people definitely don’t know I have? I can bend my thumb completely the other way. Yeah… it’s giving contortionist energy. I’m double-jointed. Which basically means I’ve got freaky little party tricks up my sleeve. It’s not exactly Grammy-worthy, but it is great for weirding people out at random moments—10/10 would recommend.

What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

If I weren’t doing music, I’d probably be a stylist or creative director. I’ve always had a deep love for clothes—putting them together, dressing others, and coming up with fresh ideas that make people feel their best. There’s something about turning fabric into self-expression that gets me every time.

Whether it’s curating looks or setting a visual mood, the world of fashion is just as inspiring to me as music. I’d be right there, behind the scenes, making people look and feel incredible.

WRAPPING IT UP

Who are some artists/people you admire and why?

One artist I really admire is Doechii. She’s so unapologetically herself, and I love how she says whatever on her mind without holding back. I find it amazing to see how far she’s come. Her journey proves that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s inspiring for artists like me, who have been grinding for years, to see her still going strong. It gives me hope that the hustle is worth it.

What is the best advice you’ve received?

The best advice I’ve been giving is it’s okay to say no !

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the industry, it would be streaming. The whole thing has messed up revenue for artists. Making it incredibly hard for them to actually make a living off their hard work. The system doesn’t truly value the time, effort, and creativity we pour into our music.

Autumn Paige

What’s next for you? Where would you like to see yourself next year? In the next year, I see myself on every stage possible, reaching new heights with every performance. And I know the Billboard Top 10 is my next stop. I’m ready for it, and I’m coming for it.

STAY CONNECTED WITH AUTUMN PAIGE

What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?

You can find me on social media at @theautumnpaige—come join the journey! And my music? It’s everywhere. From your favorite streaming platform to the next track that’ll get stuck in your head. Don’t miss out—let’s connect and vibe.
